BBY Dream Team League Season 14: Week 7 Recap & Week 8 Preview

Week 7 Recap:

Katon (1-6) 104.3 vs. Brad (5-2) 115.9

This was the second closest game of the week with Brad defeating Katon by a mere 11.6 points.  The big story was Brad picking up Danny Dimes a week prior anticipating Jalen Hurts’ bye week.  Daniel Jones did not disappoint.  31.7 fantasy points including 107 yards rushing and rushing touchdown.  Brad also got 24.1 from Aaron Jones who caught a beautiful touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers late in the game.  Chubb was Chubb with 17.7.  Brad’s Sutton (3.8) and Waddle (10.8) disappointed from the WR position and CMC played limited snaps, scoring 7.2 in his inaugural game as a 49er.  Katon had 6 players score at least 12 points, but nobody scored more than Zeke Elliot with 17.7.  Zeke was looking good against Detroit with 2 rushing touchdowns, but he got hit really hard on his knee, limiting his snaps in the second half.  Seems like the knee is fine, but something to monitor because it looks like it hurt.  David Montgomery got 12.2 points for Katon.  Worth noting that Khalil Herbert has looked better than Montgomery several weeks in a row and the snap % could move towards Herbert’s favor if this trend continues as I predicted in the preseason draft grades.

Jen (3-4) 123.5 vs. Trey (1-6)  86.5

Jen gets the win, but at what cost.  Rookie phenom, Breece Hall, unfortunately tore his ACL in this matchup.  He had 15.2 points for Jen before he exited with the injury.  He was on pace for offensive rookie of year and looked every bit like the hype he got in the preseason.  Tough loss.  Jen’s other rookie Rb Kenneth Walker looked amazing again.  The Chris Carson but better Clone rushed for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns for 33.8 fantasy points.  Olave got back in the lineup and got 17.1 points with 7 catches for 106 yards.  Terry McLaurin had his 2nd best game of the season with 5 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown in Taylor Heinicke’s first start in 2022.  Rookie Rb Tyler Allgeier got a touchdown as well.  Trey’s team disappointed.  JT only got 12.0 fantasy points as the Colts fell behind earlier in a low scoring game.  Lamar Jackson had his 4th game in a row scoring 16.1 points or less and Kyle Pitts continues to be the bust of the year, scoring a pathetic 2.4 fantasy points with 3 catches for only 9 yards.  Trey’s only solace was Travis Etienne having his best game as a pro with 14 rushes for 114 yards a touchdown.  Of course it looks as though Etienne has showed up too late for Trey to make a run this season.

Kenny (3-4) 85.1 vs. Tommy (6-1) 115.0

Tommy continued to take names and kick ass with the en fuego arm of Joe Burrow.  Joe threw for 481 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Falcan’ts and rushed for another touchdown.  44.2 fantasy points was 51.9% of Kenny’s total output this week!  Jeeze Joe!  Tommy got a solid 18.3 from Derrick Henry.  George Kittle had his best game of the year so far with 6 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown against KC.  (18.8 points).  Tommy did lose DK Metcalf to a knee injury, but it appears to not be too serious despite it knocking him out of the game for Tommy.  On Kenny’s side he got 18.1 from Mike Williams before he too was knocked out of the game with an injury.  Preliminary reports say he will be out for few games.  Kenny had 4 players score 5.4 or less and couldn’t keep up with Tommy this week, losing by 29.9.

Mike (4-3)  104.3 vs. Moose (5-2) 94.3

Mike did it!  Last week I said he had a chance due to bye weeks and matchups, but that he would have to earn it.  Earn it he did scoring 104.3 points and winning by 10 points, the closest matchup of the week.  The main reason Mike won was Josh MFing Jacobs who ran for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Texans.  Earlier I said I was right about Khalil Herbert, but I was dead wrong about Josh Jacobs.  Apparently contract years do still matter in the NFL and in Fantasy Football.  I stand corrected Jacobs.  Now stop crushing everyone.  Nobody else on Mike’s team scored more than 12.2.  If targets counted for anything Mike would have scored more considering Godwin had 13 targets against the Panthers.  Moose filled his holes well this week, but just got beat by Jacob’s monster performance.  He outscored Mike at Qb, RB1, WR2, and Flex, but it wasn’t enough.  Barkley got his with 18.5 and Stevenson still owned the NE backfield despite Damien Harris coming back with 19.8 fantasy points including 8 catches on 8 targets for 59 receiving yards.  It looks like he owns both the Legarrete Blount role and the James White role in the offense, which makes him scary.  Mike moves to 4-3 and wins his 3rd in a row.

Chase (4-3) 89.3 vs. JD (5-2) 134.5

JD blows out Chase.  Chase was on high heading into this week after defeating Moose, getting DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension after the Maquise Brown injury, Gus Edwards being activated, and Amon-Ra St. Brown coming back from his injury.  All was looking up for Chase.  Until it went down really quickly.  Amon-Ra St. Brown exited the game with a concussion after only catching 1 ball for 4 yards.  AJ Dillon only rushed the ball 4 times for 15 yards.  Jared Goff threw for 228 yards, 2 interceptions, and 0 touchdowns leading to a pathetic 1.4 fantasy points.  29 out of Chase’s 89.3 points came from his kicker and D/ST.  32.5% of his points.  JD went off with 31.8 from Patrick Mahomes to the tune of 423 yards and 3 passing touchdowns.  Austin Ekeler continued his ridiculous stretch of games scoring another 30.7 points, moving him to Running Back #1 on the season.  In the last 4 weeks Ekeler has scored games of 31.9, 36.9, 19.3, and 30.7 for an average of 29.7.  On Fire.  JD also got a nice 18.9 from Raheem Mostert who has secured his role as the starting RB on the Dolphins.  JD not only matched Chase, but beat his D/ST and Kicker combo with 31 points.  JD’s Qb and Rb1 positions outscored Chases Qb and Rb1 positions 62.5 to 2.9.  Insert drunk emoji here.

Scotty (2-5) 95.8 vs. Joe (3-4) 125.0

Joe is better than ESPN’s autodraft!  Congrats Joe!  The craziest part of Joe’s week is that he scored 125 points despite Mark Andrews only have 0.4 points on National Tight Ends Day no less.  You could tell he was hobbled by a knee injury and didn’t look quite like himself.  Weird to see him now get any catches in a game, but no matter, Joe got 32.0 from Ja’Marr Chase who torched the Falcan’ts.  He got 21.3 out of spot starter Eno Benjamin and had 7/9 players score in double digits.  Scotty had decent outings from Herbert (17.5), Mixon (16.6) and DJ Moore (16.1), but he couldn’t match Joe’s explosion from Chase and Benjamin.  Deebo tweaked his hammy as well this week, something to monitor for Scotty moving into Week 8.

***TRADE ALERT***

Brad (5-2) trades #10 RB Aaron Jones, #9 Qb Daniel Jones, and #22 WR Gabe Davis to Jen (3-4) for #5 WR Justin Jefferson and #10 TE Hayden Hurst.

Trade Reaction:  Moose called it a “good trade”.  Brad gets a #1 WR.  Jen had lost Qb Matt Ryan, #6 Rb Breece Hall, so she gets their replacements in exchange for her best player.  Brad gets a tight end to replace the injured David Njoku.

Overall: B.  Helps both teams.  Brad sacrifices depth and flex for WR1 spot.  Jen sacrifices WR1 spot for a complete lineup.  Should help both teams.

Week 8 Preview:

Brad (5-2) vs. Joe (3-4)

Brad trades 3 players that have started for him in order to acquire #5 Wr Justin Jefferson, setting up the Jefferson versus Ja’Marr Chase game this week.  Jefferson hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 1 and faces Arizona, as opposed to Joe’s #4 Wr Ja’Marr Chase who has scored 4 touchdowns in just the last two weeks.  Chase gets Cleveland on Monday Night Football.  In 2 games last season Chase was pretty quiet with games of 6-49-0 and 2-26-0.  Cleveland’s secondary has been terrible recently, so let’s see if he turns that around this season.  At Qb Brad has #5 Jalen Hurts vs. Pittsburgh.  Joe has #7 Geno Mahomes, I mean Smith against the Giants.  Brad has San Francisco Running Back #5 Christian McCaffrey at the Los Angeles Rams.  CMC played the Rams two weeks ago while on the Panthers getting 13 carries for 69 yards (hehe) and 7 catches for 89 receiving yards (19.3 fantasy points).  Brad also has #2 Rb Nick Chubb against Cincinnati on MNF.  #7 WR Jaylen Waddle versus Detroit and newly acquired tight end Greg Dulcich in the London game on Sunday.  Joe has TE#2 Mark Andrews on TNF.  He looked hobbled last week with the knee injury and hasn’t practiced so far this week.  Hopefully he can give it ago versus the Bucs.  Joe’s #23 Rb Tony Pollard might be in line for an expanded workload as Zeke banged up his knee last week and has been limited in practice this week.  Something to monitor.

Kenny (3-4) vs. Chase (4-3)

Another good matchup features Kenny who is hoping to have D’Andre Swift back this week against Miami. Speaking of Miami Kenny has Tua as his starting Qb against the Lions.  He also has #6 WR. Davante Adams @ New Orleans, #12 Wr Amari Cooper against Cincy on MNF.  Chase has made a change at Qb after two pathetic weeks from Jared Goff.  Looks like he might turn to the gunslinger Sam Ehlinger against Washington.  Chase also has #16 Rb Dalvin Cook against Arizona, Wr #19 Michael Pittman Jr in the Washington matchup, DeAndre Hopkins @ Minnesota, and he’s hoping to have Amon-Ra St. Brown against Miami.  Banged up Lions will be the story in this matchup.

JD (5-2) vs. Mike (4-3)

Bit time matchup with two winning teams going head to head.  JD gets hit hard by bye weeks losing his studs Patrick Mahomes and Austin Ekeler.  JD will feature Kirk Cousins vs. Arizona, newly acquired Jets Rb James Robinson against New England.  NE got gashed pretty good by the Bears last week.  We’ll see if the Jets follow a similar gameplan.  Rb #24 Raheem Mostert gets a juicy matchup against Detroit.  Wr#19 CeeDee Lamb faces Chicago, Diontae Johnson gets Philly.  On Mike’s end he has Dak Prescott against Chicago, Najee Harris @ Philly, #4 Rb Josh Jacobs, who I was wrong about in my draft grades, against the Saints in the Dome.  Chris Godwin plays on TNF and is coming off of his 13 target game.  In the past 2 weeks he has had 25 targets.  Crazy.  WR#21 Tee Higgins will finish things off in this matchup on MNF.

Tommy (6-1) vs. Scotty (2-5)

Tommy’s team come scorching into this matchup against a hapless Scotty team.  Since Scotty’s Week 4 explosion of 190.6 points in the past 3 weeks he has combined for 235.2 points and has gone 0-3.  And now his starting Qb Justin Herbert is on bye this week, meaning he’ll have to turn to Tom Brady who has looked depressed and not his normal self lately.  Scotty will have to monitor the health of D’Andre Swift which could impact his Rb #13 Jamaal Williams and the health of WR #11 Deebo Samuel who is dealing with a hammy issue.  That sucks considering he has done very well against the Rams as I mentioned in the Week 4 Preview.  Scotty will need some Brady to Evans magic on TNF to have a chance against Tommy’s juggernaut of a team.  Tommy will have #3 Qb Joe MFing Burrow against it doesn’t matter.  (CLE on MNF).  #7 Rb Derrick MFing Henry against Houston in a smash spot.  #8 Leonard Fournette has looked weird the past couple of weeks and is losing snaps to Rachaad White.  #3 Wr Tyreek the Freak gets Detroit where he might just go over 200 yards receiving.  Tommy will have to monitor the health of DK Metcalf and Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle might get bumps if Deebo misses this week, a double nut shot to Scotty’s chances if Deebo is inactive.  Double nut shot looks like the way this one will go, brace yourself Scotty.

Trey (1-6) vs. Katon (1-6)

Bottom Bowl Preview!!!  Trey has some players that he is starting.  Katon also has some players that are starting.  But some of them might not start.  Trey has Etienne with a larger workload now that they traded James Robinson away.  Rumors are swirling about the Eagles trying to trade for Alvin Kamara.  Would be nuts to do that and impact this game of Sanders vs. Kamara am I right?  Congrats on whichever of you gets your 2nd win of the season!

Jen (3-4) vs. Mustafa (5-2)

New team, who dis?  Jen enters a critical midyear matchup against Moose who has dropped 2 straight after a dominating 5-0 start.  Jen will feature newly acquired #9 Qb Daniel Jones in a great matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.  Rookie phenom Rb#18 Kenneth Walker faces the Giants.  Newly acquired #10 Rb Aaron Jones has a tough matchup against a well rested Buffalo Bills team on Sunday Night Football.  She has #14 Wr Chris Olave against the Raiders.  She’ll monitor to see if she gets James Conner back, giving her a potential 3 man punch at Rb.  Moose gets all his weapons back except for Michael Thomas probably.  He’ll have #1 Qb Josh Allen and his 31.4 point per game average against the Packers, #3 Rb Saquon Barkley against a beatable Seattle team.  Rookie phenom Rb#12 Dameon Pierce against Tennessee who did a decent job stopping JT last week.  #2 WR Cooper Kupp faces San Fran.  In Week 4 against SF Kupp had 14 catches on 19 targets for 122 yards receiving and 22.2 fantasy points.  19 targets is freaking nuts.  #18 WR AJ Brown is against a banged up Steelers secondary.  And #9 Rb Rhamondre Stevenson gest the Jets in a key divisional matchup.  Moose should be back to his 130+ point average and be really tough to beat this week.

Thanks for reading and good luck!

BBY Dream Team League S14: Week 6 Recap & Week 7 Preview

Week 6 Recap:

Mustafa (5-1) 115.7 vs. Chase (4-2) 134.9

“Down goes Frazier!”  “Do you believe in Miracles!” “Pigs can fly, hell has frozen over, the Saints are going to the Super Bowl!”  Chase’s team rises to the occasion and takes down the last undefeated team in Mustafa.  Moose had his normal solid efforts out of Josh Allen (29.2) and Saquon Barkley (17), he also got 23.1 from Rhamondre Stevenson.  Cooper Kupp had a quiet game for Cooper Kupp with 13.2 fantasy points only 7 catches for 80 yards.  AJ Brown got 15.2 including a touchdown.  And even Moose’s kicker showed out with Succop getting 14 going 4/4 for field goals for the Bucs.  Moose’s downfall came at Tight End with Dallas Geodert getting 3.2, Flex in Melvin Gordon getting 0.8, and Jax D/ST getting 0.  Those three players combing for 4 points was Moose’s downfall.  On Chase’s side he had a near complete effort from his team with the exception of JK Dobbins who was sat after experiencing knee tightness.  He finished with 1.5 points.  Everybody else scored in double digits.  Michael Pittman led the team with 22.9 fantasy points on a monster receiving day of 13 receptions and 134 yards.  Kelce was Kelce with 8 catches for 108 yards (18.2 points).  Looking at the Tight End, Flex and Defense positions Chase outscored Moose 41.4 to 4.  Chase won by 19.2.

Tommy (5-1) 133.5 vs. Brad (4-2) 83.2

Tommy celebrated his birthday and then celebrated kicking Brad’s ass.  Brad had his worst week of the season by far (previous low was 117.1).  6 Players scored in single digits and nobody eclipsed 20 fantasy points.  On Tommy’s side he was led by Joe Burrow who threw for exactly 300 yards and 4 touchdowns against our Saints for 35.5 fantasy points.  Tyreek Hill had 12 receptions and 177 yards receiving.  And for some reason Tommy started Brandon Auyik in the flex despite Auyik averaging a paltry 7.8 fantasy points per game heading into this week.  So naturally the piece of shit catches 8 balls on 11 targets for 83 yards and two touchdowns against me.  What a dick.  Good game Tommy.

Scotty (2-4) 67.0 vs. Jen (2-4) 92.7

A low scoring affair as Jen takes out Scotty.  Scotty just couldn’t get it going with bye weeks, injuries, and schedule all cultivating into his worst game of the year.  Tom Brady only got 13.6, Joe Mixon only got 14.8, and 5 out of 9 scored in single digits.  Scotty also lost Marquise Brown to a foot injury that might keep him out for quite some time.  Jen only got 4.5 from Zach Wilson this week, but her rookie running backs showed up in a big way.  Breece Hall got 22.1 and Kenneth Walker II got 18.  Brad called for optimism last week for Jen’s squad and her Rookie Duo showed us why this week.  Jen will also be hoping to get some pieces back in Week 7.

JD (4-2) 99.8 vs. Trey (1-5) 84.6

Trey was unable to win back to back games and drops to 1-5 on the season.  Trey smartly played Deon Jackson who got 23.1 fantasy points before exiting the Colts game with a quad injury.  Lamar Jackson got 16.1, Sanders got 13.7 and Allen Lazard got 15.6, but then Trey’s Wr2, TE, Flex, D/ST, and Kicker all combined for 16.1 total points.   JD was led by Mahomes 22.5 and Ekeler’s 19.3.  Nobody went nuts for JD, but he had a better week than Trey and got the W.

Joe (2-4) 104.8 vs. Katon (1-5) 105.8

Katon has done it!  His first win of the season!  He got 9 starters in there and and got the job done by 1 point!  Congratulations Katon!  Katon was led by Stefon Diggs 28.8 and he had a pair of Rb’s with solid production Kamara with 15.4 and Zeke with 15.1.  Joe on the other side had 56.8 out of his total 104.8 (54.2%) of his point come from Ja’Marr Chase and Mark Andrews.  Everybody else shit the bed.  Katon had Zeke, Joe had Pollard, Zeke outscored Pollard, Katon outscored Joe.

Mike (3-3) 83.5 vs. Kenny (3-3) 67.3

Mike gets to 3-3 by scoring the 4th least points this week, but playing the 2nd lowest scoring team this week.  His top scorer was NE D/ST with 17, his second highest scorer was his kicker Myers with 13.  Katon’s top scorer was Kyler Murray with 17.8.  Like I said in the preview this matchup was gross and I was right. Disgusting.

Week 7 Preview:

BYE-MA-GEDDON

Teams on Bye This Week: Buffalo Bills, Philly Eagles, LA Rams, Minnesota Vikings.  Some serious firepower missing.  This is where depth and management comes in big time.  The midweeks with byes.

Katon (1-5) vs. Brad (4-2)

Brad has talked a lot of shit to Katon this season in the write ups and now Katon gets to attempt revenge.  Brad is coming off of his first loss since Week 1 and his worst game of the year.  Katon is coming off of his first win and 2nd highest scoring week of the year.  Brad will be without his starting Qb, Wr2, D/ST and Kicker.  Katon will be without his starting WR #1 Stefon Diggs and WR #17 Devonta Smith.  Let’s focus on who they do have.  Katon has Derek Carr vs. Houston and Brad has Daniel Jones @ Jacksonville.  Brad picked up Jones last week thinking it would be a decent matchup.  That was before Matt Ryan went off to the tune of 389 yards and 3 passing touchdowns on the Jags in Week 6, making this move look better than it actually is.  Katon has Alvin Kamara against Arizona’s 10th ranked OPRK.  David Montgomery who might be losing touches to Khalil Herbert as I expected.  Zeke Elliot has a butter matchup against Detroit.  Cooks and WR #15 Christian Kirk will hold down WR spot for Katon. On Brad’s side he has #13 Aaron Jones with a decent matchup against Washington, #1 Rb Nick Chubb vs. Baltimore, and #4 Rb Christian McCaffrey against Tampa Bay.  There are rumors that CMC might be traded, so we’ll have to monitor to see if that happens and if it does happen, does he go somewhere that helps or hurts his fantasy value.  We shall see.  Brad will have to monitor Jaylen Waddle this week as he injured his shoulder at the end of his matchup in Week 6.  Brad is favored, but don’t sleep on Katon.  Or with him because you’ll definitely wind up pregnant.

Jen (2-4) vs. Trey (1-5)

Jen loses her top wideout, #3 WR Justin Jefferson and Trey loses his RB2, #9 Miles Sanders to bye weeks. Trey has a strong chance to have #1 Overall Pick Johnathan Taylor back this week, while Jen will rely on her rookie Rb Duo to carry her team.  Trey has a clear advantage at Qb as Jen’s #20 Qb Aaron Rodgers hasn’t gotten above 16.8 points this season while Trey’s #2 Lamar Jackson has games of 42.3 and 50.5 logged this season.  He has scored under 20 in 3 consecutive weeks, but it’s steadily increasing with a smash spot potential this week against a Cleveland secondary that couldn’t stop anybody last week.  The rest of the matchup is complete and utter garbage.  A hodge podge of near fantasy irrelevant players that shouldn’t be started and yet here we are.  Jen with Terry McLaurin, Corey Davis, Hayden Hurst, and Tyler Allgeier.  Trey with Allen Lazard, Tyler Lockett, and is that Taysom Hill in your flex spot?  Jesus.  If Olave plays I like Jen’s chances a bit better, but this matchup looks to be low scoring.

Kenny (3-3) vs. Tommy (5-1)

Kenny loses #24 Rb Devin Singletary to bye and Tommy gets #8 Rb Derrick Henry back from bye.  Kenny will get D’Andre Swift back just in time and turn his Tight End position to #11 TE Robert Tonyan.  He also gets Davante Adams back from bye.  Tommy will have Joe Burrow at home vs. Atlanta.  Atlanta shocked the world last week by shutting down the 49ers running offense and winning against a quality NFC opponent. Look for Burrow to expose the secondary much like Jimmy G did once they fully abandoned the run.  #5 Rb Leonard Fournette gets #26 OPRK Carolina.  Making this matchup seem that Kenny has a strong chance of dropping his 3rd game in a row.  Kenny might be able to pull the upset; however, if #12 WR Mike Williams is able to get it going against a horrific Seattle defense.  Smash spot for Williams, can he lead Kenny to victory?

Mike (3-3) vs. Mustafa (5-1)

Moose was hit hard with byes this week.  He’ll be without Qb#1 Josh Allen, WR#1 Cooper Kupp, WR#10 AJ Brown, and TE #6 Dallas Goedert.  At the same time, Mike gets healthier with Dak Prescott looking to return from his Week 1 thumb injury, just in time to play the horrific Detroit Lions defense.  Mike will also feature #7 Rb Josh Jacobs against Houston’s 32nd ranked OPRK, making him a chalk DFS play and a solid foundation for Mike’s chances to pull the upset.  #24 Wr Tee Higgins has a great matchup against Atlanta and Chris Godwin has a great chance to smash against Carolina.  One of the reasons Moose has the best team in the league this season is his depth.  His starting lineup this week will be competitive versus most of the league.  He has #11 Qb Trevor Lawrence against the Giants, #3 Rb Saquon Barkley vs. the Jaguars inconsistent defense, #11 Rb Rhamondre Stevenson vs. Chicago on MNF, Romeo Doubs @ Washington, Curtis Samuel vs. Green Bay, and let’s not forget #15 Rb Dameon Pierce vs. Las Vegas.  Mike has a chance due to matchups, but Moose isn’t just going to roll over and die this week.  Mike will have to earn it.

Chase (4-2) vs. JD (4-2)

Big Time Matchup Here.  Chase loses #10 Rb Dalvin Cook and Darrell Henderson to byes this week.  JD is at full strength.  Looking at Chase’s team it can be summarized as “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”  When it comes to Wide Receiver position it is the best of times.  He gets the Sun God Amon-Ra St. Brown back from injury and bye week and he gets DeAndre Hopkins back from his 6 game suspension, while also having young stud #16 Michael Pittman Jr going up against Tennessee.  At Running back it’s the worst of times.  He has JK Dobbins who tweaked his knee, AJ Dillon who hasn’t cracked double digit fantasy points since Week 1, and then he loaded up on potential Rb’s to see if one of them might work out this week in Latavius Murray (Denver), D’Onta Foreman (Carolina), and Kyren Williams (LAR-bye).  The Broncos have already come out saying Melvin Gordon will start, but Murray could eat more touches if they go hot hand approach.  Foreman is a speculative pickup in case CMC gets traded, Chase would gain a starting Rb.  And Kyren Williams is getting hyped as someone the Rams might lean on down the stretch, possibly supplanting Henderson who Chase also has.  Chase is hoping to get something at Rb and to ride his trio of wideouts and his #1 Tight End Travis Kelce to victory.  JD has #4 Qb Patrick Mahomes @ San Fransisco, #2 Rb Austin Ekeler vs. Seattle’s 28th ranked OPRK.  Just a note here, Los Angeles has been cautious with Ekeler, wanting to make sure he stay healthy down the stretch.  He could smash this matchup, or he could have very limited touches if the Chargers don’t need him late in the game.  Raheem Mostert has taken over the Miami backfield and has a decent matchup against Pittsburgh who just gave up solid fantasy production to Leonard Fournette last week (19.1).  #18 Wr CeeDee Lamb gets Dak Prescott back and a juicy matchup against Detroit.  Diontae Johnson is @ Miami, and JD hopes to have Keenan Allen this week against Seattle.  Should be a great matchup and either team can win, but JD has clear advantage at Rb, while Chase has advantage at WR.

Scotty (2-4) vs. Joe (2-4)

What and the hell are yall doing?  Two worst losing streaks in the league matchup this week.  Joe has dropped 3 straight after being 2-1 and getting cocky.  Scotty has dropped two in a row after his 190 point explosion in Week 4.  In the two weeks since then he has scored 139.4 combined, averaging a pathetic 69.7 points per game.  Joe on the other hand has been more even scoring 110.3, 105.5, and 104.8 the last three weeks, but going up against teams that scored more points.  So Scotty is up and down, Joe is consistent, who wins?  Scotty has a Rb2 problem and a Wr1 problem.  He will have to start Jamaal Williams at Rb2 or go dumpster diving in Free Agent land.  Also he lost #8 WR Marquise Brown possibly for the season as he suffered a bad foot injury.  He gets #8 Qb Justin Herbert versus Seattle and TE #5 TJ Hockensen versus Dallas.  Of course Dallas did a great job stopping Dallas Goedert last week.  Joe will have Geno Smith in the LA Chargers game, CEH vs. San Fran, Eno Benjamin should get a second start, this time against the Saints on TNF.  Ja’Mar Chase gets Atlanta in a smash spot.  #2 Tight End Mark Andrews gets Cleveland.  I’m not sure if Scotty has given up on this season since it was autodrafted for him or if he is still willing to fight.  If he is willing to fight he might want to consider trading Deebo Samuel or Mike Evans for a Rb2 and Wr2 to better fill out his roster.  He could try to trade Brady or Herbert to a Qb-needy team.  But no 2-4 team is out of this thing yet.  There are a lot of ups and downs in fantasy football and the season is long.  Just last week Moose was unstoppable, unbeatable.  And yet he lost and has a chance to lose two in a row.  Mike’s team was destitute a couple weeks ago, but fortunes have smiled on him and he is back to 3-3 with a chance at 4-3 with a team looking better as it gets healthier.  Never give up, keep fighting, let’s go!

Thanks for reading and good luck!

BBY Dream Team League Season 14: Week 5 Recap & Week 6 Preview

Week 5 Recap:

Mustafa (5-0) 148.3 vs. Kenny (3-2) 117.1

Moose has dominated in his first 5 weeks and his team has gotten better.  Josh Allen’s 40 points led Moose who also got 27.4 from Cooper Kupp, 18.1 from Saquon Barkley, and 18.8 from rookie phenom Dameon Pierce.  Kenny had a decent week with 117.1, but decent weeks won’t compete with Moose’s ridiculous lineup.  Kenny got 30.9 from Davante Adams on MNF, 21.4 from Mike Williams, and 22.7 from Jeff Wilson.  But 5 players scored in single digits including four players that scored 6 or less.  Moose gets it done.

JD (3-2) 106.5 vs. Tommy (4-1) 149.5

Tommy bested JD this week and wind up being Top Scorer in the league.  Tommy was the only team that could’ve beaten Moose this week.  He got 30.9 from Leonard Fournette and 29.2 from Derrick Henry.  JD got 36.9 from Austin Ekeler and 30.4 from Patrick Mahomes, but a big difference maker in this matchup was Defense selection.  JD got -1 from Miami D/ST and Tommy got 24 from Dallas D/ST for a 25 point swing.  Tommy also outscored JD in the flex with Kareem Hunt’s 13.2 to JD’s Garret Wilson who only got 4.2.  Even if JD had started Mostert he would have fallen short.  Tommy for the win.

Chase (3-2) 95.8 vs. Katon (0-5) 88.9

Finally Katon set his full lineup!….oh wait.  Nevermind he started Logan Thomas who was inactive prior to the kickoff.  I know this because I had Logan Thomas in another league and dropped him for Cade Otton.  I won that matchup by less than 1 point.  If Katon had started Montgomery or Devonta Smith or picked up a tight end (Evan Engram or Cade Otton anyway) then he would have come out ahead in this one.  That’s a lot of if’s though.  Chase was looking defeat in the eyes heading into Monday Night Football, but Travis Kelce caught 7 balls for 25 yards and 4 Touchdowns to secure the victory.  He also had a nice game from Dalvin Cook with 25.1.  Those two players accounted for 55.1/95.8 points or 57.5% of his total point output.  The other 7 players were all in single digits including 4 players that scored less than 6 points.  Chase squeezes one out and drops Katon to 0-5.

Joe (2-3) 105.5 vs. Trey (1-4) 134.6

Congratulations to Trey who got his first win of the season this week!  With no JT as well, very good job.  The main reason Trey won was because of Taysom Hill’s ridiculous game against the Seahawks.  He carried the Saints on his back to the tune of 9 rushes, 112 rushing yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, and a passing touchdown.  Hill outscored Joe’s Mark Andrews by 20.1 points.  Trey won by 29.1 points.  Joe’s team disappointed with his Qb, Rb1, Wr1, Wr2, and Flex all scoring in single digits.  He broke 100 thanks in large part to his peripherals as Andrews got 18.9, SF D/ST got 19, and Justin Tucker got 16.  53.9 from your peripherals is pretty damn good.  Your perhipherals accounting for 51.1% of your total point output is not. Congrats again Trey!

Mike (2-3) 115.0 vs. Scotty (2-3) 72.4

Speaking of bad teams that got wins last week, Mike Grote got the W!  Mike got 24.7 from Carson Wentz, 30.8 from Josh Jacobs who I was wrong about in my draft grades, by a lot.  He also got 22 from NE D/ST.  Mike even overcame Tee Higgins getting 0 fantasy points after he aggravated his ankle, which resulted in him playing only 10 snaps.  I’m going to compare two players points scored through five weeks, let me know which player you would rather on your fantasy team:

Player A: 9.6, 11.4, 11.6, 7.4, 5.1, Total= 45.1 Points

Player B: 9.0, 13.0, 10.0, 13.0, 16.0, Total= 61.0 Points

Which would you choose?  Well luckily Mike doesn’t have to choose, because they are both on his team.  Player A is Mike’s first round pick Najee Harris.  Player B is Mike’s #1 Kicker Daniel Carlson.  I may have been wrong about Jacobs, but I’ve been right about Najee so far.  Scotty got 17.8 from Marquise Brown, but that was his top scorer.  He had several players score right around 10 points, but he had 4 players J Williams (5.6), TJ Hockenson (1.1), Pit D/ST (3.0), and Koo (0.0) combine for 9.7 points.  Scotty’s worst game of the season and surely a disappointment after his 190 point explosion last week.

Jen (1-4) 94.5 vs. Brad (4-1) 132.3

Brad gets his 4th win of the season in Week 5.  This is already 1 more win than the 2021 Regular Season where Brad finished 3-11.  He was led by Jalen Hurts 27.5, Nick Chubb’s 28.4, and Christian McCaffrey’s 19.9.  Jen had a big day from Justin Jefferson who had 12 catches for 154 yards, but everybody else scored 15 or less.  Olave caught a touchdown, but sacrificed his body for it and wind up being ruled out for a concussion.  Then on Monday Night Football Jen was down by a little less than 40 points with Darren Waller to play, but he hurt his hamstring in the first half of the Chiefs game and wind up scoring 0 for Jen.  Despite poor performances from James Conner (6.8) and Antonio Gipson (5.4) Jen has some reason for optimism, which I will talk about in the Week 6 Preview.

Week 6 Preview:

***RIVALRY GAME***

Moose (5-0) vs. Chase (3-2)

7 Championships won out of 13 Seasons of the BBY Dream Team League represented in this matchup. Moose with 4, Chase with 3, including last season.  Moose comes in averaging 149.8 points per game compared to Chase’s 105.9 per game.  The insane thing about Moose’s complete and utter dominance of this league to date is that his team has actually gotten better over the past couple of weeks due to various injuries across the NFL.  Moose has #14 Rb Rhamondre Stevenson who has Top 5 Rb potential over the next couple of weeks due to an injury to Damien Harris.  He has Melvin Gordon III who is starting due to the season ending injury to Javonte Williams.  One might not even notice that his Rb2, #9 Rb Dameon Pierce is on bye this week.  Moose will have #1 Qb Josh Allen in the ultimate revenge game in Kansas City, where the nightmare of a coin toss in last years playoffs have him out for blood.  @2 Rb Saquon Barkley leads the 4-1 Giants against the Baltimore Ravens.  #1 WR Cooper Kupp faces Carolina.  WR#13 AJ Brown and TE#5 Dallas Goedert face Dallas’s reall solid defense on Sunday Night Football.  Don’t overlook Moose’s #7 D/ST Jacksonville going up against the Garbage Fire that is the Indianapolis Colts who are surprisingly 2-2-1 on the season.  Moose will have his choice in the flex between Michael Thomas if available, Melvin Gordon III, or WR #22 Curtis Samuel.  On Chase’s side he will be without stud WR #11 Amon-Ra St. Brown and Qb #10 Jared Goff.  He’ll have to turn to Qb #13 Kirk Cousins  against a decent Miami defense.  He has #14 Rb Dalvin Cook in the same game.  JK Dobbins is @ NY Giants.  Michael Pittman Jr. is against the Jaquars.  He’ll have JuJu Smith-Schuster and TE#1 Travis Kelce on the wrong side of the Buffalo matchup and AJ Dillon against the Jets.  I don’t see Chase competing with Moose this week, he is just too powerful at this moment in the season.

Tommy (4-1) vs. Brad (4-1)

Tommy graciously hosted Brad for the draft and I’m very appreciative of that.  Now both teams find themselves 4-1, both riding 4 game winning streaks and looking to get their 5th win of the season. Unfortunately for Tommy bye weeks have begun, meaning he won’t have his first round pick Rb#5 Derrick “King” Henry.  Brad is unscathed by bye weeks.  Tommy will have #9 Qb Joe Burrow in the New Orleans Super Dome.  Louisiana loves him and I’m sure he’ll put on a show considering the Saints just got sliced and diced by Geno *checks notes* Smith in Week 5.  #7 Rb Leonard Fournette travels to Pittsburgh where Tommy will have TB D/ST as a stack against rookie-led Kenny Pickett.  Pickett was sacked 3 times last week against the Bills and threw one interception.  I expect more of the same.  Tommy has #5 WR Tyreek Hill against Minnesota.  This could be a battle of the Dolphins wideouts since Brad has #7 WR Jaylen Waddle, but Brad might choose to go with #20 WR Gabe Davis in a shootout in Kansas City considering some guy named Skylar Thompson might be the starting Qb for the Dolphins this week with Tua and Teddy Bridgewater both trying to get cleared from concussions.  If one or both of those Qbs get cleared then Brad will have to make a decision.  Tommy has the other Browns Rb in #21 Rb Kareem Hunt against a New England defense that has given up decent points to pass catching backs this season.  Tommy also has #17 Wr DK Metcalf matched up against a beatable Cardinals secondary.  Brad has #3 Jalen Hurts in a critical matchup against division rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.  The Eagles offensive line is Hurt, so look for Hurts to be running away from Micah Parsons all night.  Brad has his trio of Rbs for this matchup with #1 Nick Chubb against NE who shut down Jamaal Williams last week, #12 Rb Aaron Jones against an underrated Jets Defense, and #6 Rb Christian McCaffrey against the Rams in Los Angeles.  He’s been a model of consistency for Brad regardless of opponent with games of 13.7, 17.8, 15.5, 21.3, and 19.9.  Let’s see if a Qb and head coach change influences CMCs production moving forward.  Brad is hoping to have a shot heading into Monday Night Football where he’ll have #15 WR Courtland Sutton @ LA Chargers.

Scotty (2-3) vs. Jen (1-4)

Both teams coming off of underwhelming losses, but one of these teams has a reason to be optimistic.  Jen will have a pair of talented rookies to deploy at RB with #10 Rb Breece Hall and new starter Kenneth Walker III who takes over the Seattle backfield due to the season-ending injury to Rashaad Penny.  We’ll have to wait to see if Jen has James Conner in the matchup @ Seattle as he injured his ribs against the Eagles.  They’ve called up a couple Rbs from the practice squad which isn’t a good sign.  We’ll learn more as the week progresses.  Jen will also be monitoring Chris Olave who is in the concussion protocol.  Given Tua’s situation I doubt any player currently in the protocol is going to be rushed back due to optics.  Both the NFL’s and the players ability to see because of their brain injury.  Scotty will have Tom Brady @ Pittsburgh.  Rb #20 Joe Mixon against our Saints, Wr#10 Deebo Samuel in a smash spot against Atlanta, #6 Wr Marquise Brown @ Seattle and #19 Wr Mike Evans in the Pittsburgh matchup.  Scotty looks to be favored due to Jen’s injur concerns.

JD (3-2) vs. Trey (1-4)

Can Trey do the unthinkable?!  Can he win two games in a row?  JD comes in 0-2 in non-division games after getting blown out by Scotty in Week 4 (190.6 to 114.7) and Tommy in Week 5 (149.5-106.5).  Trey will have #2 Qb Lamar Jackson @NY Giants who did a good job containing Aaron Rodgers in London last week.  He’ll have #13 Rb Miles Sanders in that Dallas game on SNF.  Travis Etienne got things going last week with his first double digit fantasy game of the season 12.9.  He’ll look to continue that against a terrible Colts team.  Trey looks like he’ll roll with Terrific Taysom again this week. Taysom Hill is Tight End #3 after that 39 point explosion last week.  Also don’t sleep on Trey’s Wr#9 Tyler Lockett.  JD will try to stop his losing streak with Qb#4 Patrick Mahomes with a herd of Buffalo running full speed into Kansas City this weekend.  #3 Rb Austin Ekeler is coming off of back to back 30+ point performances but will face off against #9 OPRK Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.  The Broncos should be well rested since their last game was on Thursday 10/6.  Raheem Mostert has all but locked up the Rb 1 duties for the Miami Dolphins. He’ll be relied upon heavily if the Dolphins are without Tue and Teddy and have to roll with Skylar Thompson at Qb this week.  JD will have WR # 21 CeeDee Lamb in that pivotal Eagles game on Sunday Night Football.  Should be a great matchup!

Joe (2-3) vs. Katon (0-5)

This bottom bowl preview has one team that is desperate for a win to try and stay in the playoff hunt and one team that may or may not know that I’m writing about them every week on these weekly write ups.  Hey Katon, if you are reading or listening to this let me know by typing in “I commit to starting 9 active players this week, I promise” into the Fantasy Group Chat.  And then actually do that please.  Joe will have Geno Smith vs. Arizona because there is no way in hell Joe would be stupid enough to start Russel Wilson again after that horrendous display on Thursday Night Football.  Joe will also start some running backs, but all of them are garbage and don’t deserve to be mentioned in this write up.  He’ll rely heavily on #18 Wr Ja’Marr Chase @ New Orleans and #2 TE Mark Andrews @ New York Giants.  Don’t sleep on Joe’s defense #1 SF D/ST against the flightless Atlanta Falcons.  Katon will have… damn Katon you’re still rolling with Matthew Stafford?  Gross.  Alvin Kamara in the Cincy game.  David Montgomery on Thursday Night Football with an over under set at a whopping 38.  Wr#2 Stefon Diggs is @ Kansas City in a potential smash spot.  Will Katon get his first win of the season?  Will Joe make it to .500?  Will Katon start 9 active players?

Mike (2-3) vs. Kenny (3-2)

Mike limps in after getting his second win of the season and Kenny limps in after getting crushed by Moose in Week 5.  Both have been bitten by the injury and bye week bug this week.  Mike will be without #4 Rb Josh Jacobs and #1 Kicker Daniel Carlson.  Kenny will be without Rb D’Andre Swift and WR#4 Davante Adams.  Let’s see who they do have for this matchup.  Oh God… this is so bad.  I’m sorry guys I have my limits.  I can’t preview this game.  The Rb’s are Najee Harris, Jerick McKinnon, Devin Singletary, and Jeff Wilson Jr.  (Insert throws up emoji).  The WR’s are #24 Tee Higgins and Chris Godwin vs. #8 Mike Williams and #12 Amari Cooper.  Flexes are Michael Gallup and Jacobi Meyers.  But hey both have Top 10 Tight Ends with Mike’s #9 Gerald Everett and Kenny’s #7 Tyler Higbee!  If either team scores in triple digits I’ll be genuinely surprised.

Thanks for reading and good luck!

BBY Dream Team League Season 14: Week 4 Recap & Week 5 Preview

Week 4 Recap:

Brad (3-1) 120.6 vs. Mike (1-3) 115.8

Mike put up his most points scored in a single game this season but fell just short to Brad by less than 5 points.  Worse than the loss of the weekly fantasy matchup was the loss of his second-round pick Javonte Williams for the season.  Mike got 35.0 points from Josh Jacobs and 26.9 from Tee Higgins.  These two combined for over half of Mike’s total point output.  Brad had a more evened effort from his team with his top scorer getting 22.7 (Nick Chubb) and 5 players getting 11+.

Tommy (3-1) 136.6 vs. Katon (0-4) 59.6

Katon started Kamara again.  This time it was the London game, so there is a little bit of an excuse.  But it doesn’t look like it would’ve mattered even if he did make a switch.  Tommy had 4 players score over 20 points including Burrow (20), Henry (25.2), Tyreek Hill (23.9), and DK Metcalf (21.4).  Any combination of 3 of those players would have been enough to beat Katon this week.  Tommy didn’t need the other 6.  Katon’s top scorer was his kicker with 17.0 points.  No one else scored in double digits.

Chase (2-2) 121.5 vs. Jen (1-3) 78.8

Things were looking good for Jen after the London game was over.  She was up on Chase by 21.3 points after getting 29.0 points from her first-round pick Justin Jefferson and 14.7 from Saints phenom rookie Chris Olave.  Chase had 22.4 combined from Kirk Cousins and Dalvin Cook.  But after the noon games kicked off it was all Chase the rest of the day.  He got 20.3 from JK Dobbins, 19 from Philly D/ST, 17.6 from Josh Reynolds, and 19.7 from Travis Kelce on SNF.  Jen had no other player score in double digits including 5 players score less than 5 points.

Joe (2-2) 110.3 vs. Mustafa (4-0) 146.2

Moose continues his ridiculous start to the season with another dominating win, this time over Joe.  Joe scored a respectable 110.3 after getting 26.9 from Russel Wilson, 21.9 from CEH, and 22 from SF D/ST on MNF.  Moose ended this game when Dameon Pierce ripped off a 75 yard touchdown run.  He had 4 players score over 20 and even got 34.7 from his peripherals.  Joe just didn’t have the firepower to hang with Moose this week.

Trey (0-4) 80.6 vs. Kenny (3-1) 115.0

Kenny had a pretty solid week from his players.  Most of them scored in double digits.  He had 6/9 score between 11.0 and 22.8 for a really even effort from his players.  Trey was carried by Miles Sanders who had 27 carries for 134 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns for a total of 31.6 against the Jaguars.  Unfortunately for Trey Lamar Jackson came back down to Earth for only 12.9 and he lost Johnathan Taylor to a high ankle sprain.  Normally you would never trade your studs, but at 0-4 and the prospect of JT missing a few weeks, Trey’s last chance might be to trade JT to a deep team for 3 starters.  We’ll see if he makes a move or takes JT with him to his grave.

JD (3-1) 114.7 vs. Scotty (2-2) 190.6

Controversy.  Betrayal.  Shame.  Impeachment.  There I was.  Commissioner of the Best Buy Dream Team League.  Drafting our 14th season.  All of a sudden.  A text!  It’s Scotty saying he can’t draft right now.  That he would need to autodraft.  I told him he had already autodrafted Deebo Samuel.  He said, “No.”  Then “Im at a multi million dollar business deal in Kansas City lol.  We are at dinner now.” And then   “I want Rb.”  Unfortunately, we were 4-5 picks away at that point.  And I couldn’t undo all those picks.  I had to tell him he was on autodraft.  Autodraft he did.  Until.  ESPN autodrafted his 3rd Qb before his 3rd Rb.  I drew the line.  I stepped in.  I interfered.  I undid the Qb pick and picked up the next Rb that was available for Scotty.  That Rb.  Was Jamaal Williams.  The same Jamaal Williams that has scored 6 touchdowns, is currently Fantasy Rb #3 and just put up 28.4 against JD.  Then after that ESPN still wind up drafting a third Qb for Scotty and I missed it.  Distracted by trying to fill out my own roster and pick my own late round fliers.  Luckily for me this week even if Jamaal Williams would have gotten 0 Scotty would have still kicked JD’s ass.  Scotty got 24.1 from Justin Herbert, 25.7 from Deebo Samuel, 29.3 from Mike Evans, and 38.9 from TJ “MFing” Hockensen.  JD finally had Austin Ekeler pop off for 31.9 and got his usual 23.2 from Patrick Mahomes.  But it wasn’t enough to keep up with the Scotty this week.   I look forward to the impeachment hearings to follow this admission.

Week 5 Preview:

Before we dive into the individual matchups I wanted to stop and point out how insane Moose’s team has been through 4 weeks.  He has put up 600.8 points in 4 weeks.  Averaging 150.2.  AVERAGING 150+.  His low was Week 2 with 134.6.  For perspective, two other players have scored in the 500s (Brad at 560.4 and Scotty at 514.5), six other players have scored in the 400s and four teams have scored in the 300s.  Katon is at 338.5 points scored, a whopping 262.5 points less than league-leading Mustafa.

And now to our normal preview:

RIVALRY GAME ALERT

JD (3-1) vs. Tommy (3-1)

Division 1 Leader Tommy vs. Division 2 Leader JD.  Post season preview?  JD was undefeated in divisional play but as soon as he left his division, he got smoked by Scotty’s 190+ point explosion.   Tommy is riding a 3 game winning streak including two games of scoring over 130 during that span.  Despite their even record Tommy has scored 44.5 points more than JD so far and has 108.1 less points scored against him.  Let’s break it down.  JD will have #4 Qb Patrick Mahomes against the Raiders on Monday Night Football.  Tommy will have #8 Qb Joe Burrow against the Ravens on Sunday Night Football.  Two Gunslingers on primetime games going up against each other.  Love to see it.  JD has #7 Rb Austin Ekeler, reminder he drafted at Ekeler at 3 overall over Cooper Kupp, against Cleveland.  Tommy has #6 Rb Derrick Henry, reminder he drafted Henry at 5 overall over Cooper Kupp, against Washington.  JD has #12 Rb James Robinson against Houston and Tommy has #15 Rb Leonard Fournette against Atlanta.  JD has #16 WR CeeDee Lamb going up against Jalen Ramsey and the Rams while Tommy has #3 WR Tyreek Hill against the Jets.  Tyreek was quoted this week saying he is a Dolphin and not a Jet because of income taxes.  Tommy’s kind of player.  This matchup could very well come down to Flex decisions.  So whatever you guys do, don’t mess that up or second guess yourselves or anything like that.  Great matchup this week.

Moose (4-0) vs. Kenny (3-1)

Kenny rides his 3 game winning streak into a wall this week.  This is like a guy on a paddle board who is making good time and then looks up and see a Tsunami about to slam into him.  That is what has been like facing Moose so far this season.  Moose has #2 Qb Josh Allen against a decent defense in Pittsburgh, #2 Rb Saquon Barkley @ Green Bay in London, #14 Rb Damon Pierce @ Jacksonville who just got wrecked by Miles Sanders last week, #10 WR AJ Brown against Arizona, #1 WR Cooper Kupp against it doesn’t fucking matter, and #21 Wr Curtis Samuel against Tennessee.  Kenny has #7 Qb Kyler Murray against Philly who shut down Trevor Lawrence last week, Devin Singletary against Pittsburgh, Jeff Wilson Jr. @ Carolina, #6 WR Davonte Adams @ KC on MNF, #17 WR Mike Williams @ Cleveland, and we’ll see who Kenny decides to play in the flex at a later time.  He’ll be deciding between #17 Rb Damien Harris against Detroit or #19 Wr Amari Cooper versus the LA Chargers.  Of course both of those are assuming that D’Andre Swift is a no-go this week against New England.  Can Kenny hang with Moose this week?  Can anyone?

Jen (1-3) vs. Brad (3-1)

Jen and Brad square off in Week 5 heading in two different directions. Jen has lost 3 in a row after starting 1-0 and Brad has won 3 in a row after starting 0-1.  Jen will be lead by #4 Fantasy WR Justin Jefferson against Chicago and #15 WR Chris Olave against Seattle.  She is hoping to get more out of Rb James Conner who faces Philly and Antonio Gibson who faces Tennessee.  Brian Robinson will be practicing this week and might play in that matchup a mere four weeks after being shot.  We’ll have to see if Robinson cuts into Gibson’s touches moving forward.  Brad will be leaning on #1 RB  Nick Chubb vs. an LA Chargers team who just gave up 27.9 to Dameon Pierce in Week 4.  Of course, most of Pierce’s points came from the 75 yard touchdown run (18.5), which gave him the big play bonus and over 100 yard bonus.  This game will kick off on Thursday Night Football with Jen having #12 Den D/ST in a juicy matchup against an inept Colts team and Brad will have #13 WR Courtland Sutton who might be matched up one on one with Stephon Gilmore.  Brad’s #5 Rb Christian McCaffrey has a tough matchup against San Fran.  Both Tight Ends will be key to this matchup.  Jen’s #12 TE Darren Waller faces KC.  In Darren Waller’s last healthy season 2020, he put up a touchdown in both contests against KC.  Brad’s #11 TE David Njoku faces off against the LA Chargers.  Apparently Njoku always plays well against the Chargers with stat lines of 2021: 7 catches on 7 targets for 149 yards and a touchdown, 2018: 7 catches on 12 targets for 55 yards and a touchdown, 2017: 4 catches on 6 targets for 74 yards and a touchdown.  Will his streak of touchdowns against the Chargers continue this week?

Joe (2-2) vs. Trey (0-4)

The big story line is obviously Trey being without Johnathan Taylor the first overall pick in this year’s draft.  Trey will have to turn to #8 Rb Miles Sanders and Travis Etienne JR.  This matchup will have players featured in all of the primetime games this week.  Joe having #12 Qb Russell Wilson and Jerry Jeudy on TNF against the Colts, Trey having Allen Lazard on the early Sunday morning London game against the Giants, Joe having #14 Wr Ja’Marr Chase and #2 TE Mark Andrews battling it out on Sunday Night Football against Trey’s #1 Qb Lamar Jackson.  This game will most likely come down to Monday Night Football where Joe will have #4 Rb Clyde Edwards-Helaire against the Las Vegas Raiders.  CEH has only run the ball 41 times so far this season, but has scored 5 touchdowns through 4 games.  For perspective Trey’s JT had 81 rushes through 4 weeks before getting injured.  Joe also has Tony Pollard as his Rb2.  Pollard has rushed the ball 36 times so far this season.  Leave it to Joe to find Running Backs that don’t actually run.  Enjoy the primetime games gentlemen.

Mike (1-3) vs. Scotty (2-2)

If Scotty was in any other division he could easily be 3-1.   Both teams are coming in after scoring their highest point total of the season in Week 4.  Mike lost Javonte Williams for the season to a torn ACL and will look to replace him with a couple of wideouts that returned from injury last week in Tampa Bay WR Chris Godwin and Dallas WR Michael Gallup.  Godwin has a favorable matchup against Atlanta and Michael Gallup will travel to Los Angeles to go up against the Rams.    Mike’s 1st pick Najee Harris is going to Buffalo and will have a rookie Qb under center.  That combined with the Steelers horrific offensive line can spell disaster (to Brad’s benefit with Bills D/ST).  #9 Josh Jacobs hopes to stay hot and earn a new contract in a big divisional game against the KC Chiefs.  The same Chiefs that just held Leonard Fournette to 3 rushes for -3 yards in Week 4.  (Fournette did have success catching the ball however, with 7 catches for 57 yards and a touchdown).  Mike will have #12 WR Tee Higgins on SNF against Scotty’s #19 Rb Joe Mixon. Scotty will also have #6 Qb Justin Herbert @ Cleveland who had given up big games to Baker Mayfield and Joe Flacco in Weeks 1 and 2 before shutting down Mitch Trubisky and Marcus Mariota in Weeks 3 and 4.  Herbert is better than all of those guys, so look for his normal production of 20+ with the potential for more.  Scotty will have #3 Rb Jamaal Williams…against a New England defense that hasn’t given up a rushing touchdown yet this year.  Scotty will also have his dynamic trio of wideouts in #11 Deebo Samuel @ Carolina, #18 Mike Evans vs. Atlanta, and #9 Marquise Brown against Philly.  Scotty looks heavily favored in this matchup.  Thanks Brad.

Chase (2-2) vs. Katon (0-4)

Chase gets his bye week this week, oh wait, that’s just Katon’s team, my bad.  Chase will have to wait and see if he gets his Sun God back this week in a big battle against New England.  Jared Goff is running point for Chase there and would love to have his top weapon back for that.  Chase has #24 Rb Dalvin Cook against a Chicago defense that got gashed by Aaron Jones in Week 2, Dameon Pierce in Week 3, and Saquon Barkley in Week 4.  Can Dalvin get things going?  Speaking of getting things going, JK Dobbins found the endzone twice against a tough Bills defense.  More importantly for Chase his touches increased from 9 in Week 3 to 17 in Week 4.  If that trend continues and he keeps finding the endzone then look out.  He has the Bengals this week on SNF.  Chase will have #1 Tight End Travis Kelce to fall back on if he needs it.   Kelce plays on MNF against the Raiders.  Katon is hoping to have Kamara against the Seattle Seahawks.  They gave up some big games this year including Jamaal Williams explosion last week.  Katon will have Matt Stafford against a decent Dallas defense.  And #2 Wr Stefon Diggs against Pittsburgh.  Katon usually drafts Kelce, so this could be a revenge game for Travis.  On the other side Chase is against Zeke.  I questioned Chase choosing JK Dobbins over Zeke during the draft, but this is why Chase has 3 titles and Brad only has 2 from a long ass time ago.  Zeke is averaging only 8.5 fantasy points per game through 4 weeks.  Can he pop off against Chase this week?  Sure, anything can happen.

Thanks for reading and good luck!
