BBY 2020: Week 10 Recap & Week 11 Preview

I’m back!

Week 10 Recap:

Jen (7-3) 104.3 vs. Brad (6-4) 75.0

Jen was leading throughout this one as Brad was exposed for being exactly who we thought he was.  Mahomes and Kelce.  Jen got a beautiful DJ Moore touchdown, 16 points from Matt Prater including a 59-yard game winner and DeAndre Hopkins caught a miracle end of the game, knockoff touchdown on a hail mary pass from Kyler Murray.  Jen gets the coveted 7th win.

JD (4-6) 101.2 vs. Chase (4-6) 87.9

(Cue image of JD listening to “Staying Alive!”)  JD avoids the dreaded 7th loss.  This game was decided by Brad’s draft capital Josh Allen (26.7) and Antonio Gibson (20.5) who were sent to JD from the past in order to defeat Chase because Brad fears Chase’s team the most come playoff time.  Those two accounted for 46.6% of JD’s total point output.  Chase got 42 from his peripherals and 45.9 from his Qb, Rb1, Rb2, Wr1, Wr2, and Flex positions.  Just a rough day.    Chase got Terminator-d.

Kenny (7-3) 92.8 vs. Tommy (5-5) 163.9

Tommy rides Tom Brady’s 34.8 and 8/9 starters in double digits to handily defeat the 1 seed as of Week 10.  Kenny had Tyreek and Gurley on byes, but his starting lineup was decent.  Tommy put up his highest point total of the season without Zeke, Golladay, and Crowder, which should scare us a bit.

Moose (4-6) 127.8 vs. Scotty (3-7) 58.3

Scotty decided to sit this one out.  8/9 starters in single digits, Brees got destroyed on his bench.  Just terrible.  Moose had a solid game scoring the 3rd most he’s scored all season and most since Week 6.  Lamar Jackson had a solid 21.3, Kamara continued his dominant season with 31.3 and a couple rookie wideouts combined for 3 tds and 35.5 points.  Moose will face an uphill climb with his 3 games remaining coming against all .500 or better teams.

Trey (6-4) 113.4 vs. Mike (6-4) 109.7

Josh Jacobs decided to unretire for Trey getting 30.6 points after averaging 11.3 the previous three weeks.  Trey started Wayne Gallman who got a solid 18.5 points in the flex.  Mike got 29.9 from Kyler Murray and was looking bleak heading into MNF, but JJ got him 20.5 and had a slight chance at the end to put Mike ahead.

Joe (3-7) 109.9 vs. Katon (5-5) 85.3

Joe won Week 1, lost 4 straight, won Week 6, lost 3 straight, won Week 10.  Boding well for JD and Kenny the next two weeks (😉).  Joe squeezes out a victory against Katon who had a top-heavy disappointing week.  Rodgers (28.4) and Chubb (21.6) combined for 58.6% of Katon’s total point total.  Joe was solid despite more disappointing weeks from his running backs.  It helps htat JD McKissic is getting 15 targets per game from Check Down Alex Smith.

Week 11 Preview (Divisional Games!)

3 Weeks.  Teams will rise, teams will fall.  Some will make the playoffs, half will not.

Division 1

Jen (7-3) vs. Katon (5-5)

You know what I love about Jen?  She fucking tries.  She rolled out Kalen “F-You” Ballage and kicked my ass last week.  This week she gets Katon.  Jen has all but locked up a playoff berth, but now sets her sights on a potential division crown and a bye week.  #7 Qb Deshaun Watson gets NE, which is pretty tough.  #16 Darrell Henderson gets tough matchup against Tampa.  Kalen “F-You” Ballage gets the Jets and is projected a handsome 13.2.  DeAndre Hopkins gets Seattle’s porous secondary.  He had an efficient 12 target, 10 reception 103 yards and a touchdown in the first outing.  #14 DJ Moore gets Detroit and Tim Patrick gets Miami.  Katon has some tough matchups with #5 Aaron Rodgers versus Indy, Nick Chubb versus Phillly, Joe Mixon at Washington, #9 Keenan Allen has a smash spot against the JETS.  Nyheim Hines against Green Bay.  What could go wrong?

Trey (6-4) vs. Moose (4-6)

What a damn rematch.  Trey edged out Moose in Week 1 134.3 to 132.2.  Moose strives to avenge that loss.  Trey is looking for the coveted 7th win.  Cam Newton is @ Houston, #5 Josh Jacobs versus KC who he scored 21.5 against in Week 5.  #4 James Robinson gets Pitsburgh, #16 Tyler Boyd is @ Washington, Will Fuller is versus NE, Diontae Johnson has been on a tear that should continue against Jacksonville.  Moose has #10 Lamar Jackson who has disappointed this season.  It’s hard to replicate the ridiculous success of last season, but something doesn’t seem right.  He’ll look to get back right against Tennessee.  #1 Rb Alvin Kamara (who Brad passed on) versus Atlanta.  #26 Chase Edmonds versus Seattle on TNF.  #21 Julio Jones versus New Orleans, #11 Chase Claypool versus Jacksonville, #6 Rb Ronald Jones against a tough Rams team.  Last time Rams traveled across the country they got destroyed by Miami.  Moose also has #1 Kicker Jason Sanders.  Moose is favored, but anything can happen here.  Should be a good one.

Division 2

Kenny (7-3) vs. Brad (6-4)

D2 Crown on the line in this one.  Kenny with a win could lock it up.  Brad is getting to full strength and is looking to make a late season run into the playoffs.  K-Dub gets Justin Herbert at home against the New York Jets.  Mahomes dropped 41.6 against them a few weeks ago and this looks like a smash spot for the talented rookie Herbert.  He also features #2 Fantasy Rb Dalvin Cook against the Dallas Cowboys.  Dallas was getting destroyed on the ground, but with Sean Lee coming back and some reinforcements on the defensive line they have been shutting down teams the past two weeks.  Allowing 94 rushing yards to the Eagles and 30 rushing yards to the Steelers Running backs.  I’m sure Dalvin will be fine.  #9 Rb Todd Gurley gets the Saints #1 ranked run defense, #2 DK Metcalf gets Patrick Peterson match #2 on TNF, #4 Tyreek Hill faces the LV Raiders who he scored 16.8 fantasy points against in Week 5.  Kenny will be without #3 Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs.  Yes that is correct, Kenny has 2 Top 10 Running backs and 3 Top 4 Wide Receivers.  Brad’s strength comes from #3 Qb Patrick Mahomes who gets a rematch against the Raiders.  He scored 32.7 fantasy points against them in their first meeting. Brad also has #3 Derrick Henry who has gotten at least 18 touches in every game this season.  He has a tough matchup against Baltimore, but he did alright against them in the playoffs last year.  Rushing 30 times for 195 yards.  Brad also has #18 Rb Kenyan Drake and #29 Wr Christian Kirk on TNF against the Seahawks.  #7 WR Terry McLaurin has been very consistent despite mediocre Qb play and has a good matchup against Cincy this week.  Brad’s main differentiator is #1 Tight End Travis Kelce.  Kelce would be Rb#4 if he were listed as a Rb.  He has scored 54.3 more than the next closest tight end.  Make no mistake, Brad has 6 wins because of Travis Kelce.  Will it be 7?

JD (4-6) vs. Joe (3-7)

Moving on from people who can win the division to people who are scraping and clawing to try and make the 6th playoff spot.  JD enters this pivotal matchup and will lose #2 Qb Josh Allen to his bye week this week.  #7 Aaron Jones has a tough matchup against Indy, #13 Antonio Gibson has a favorable matchup versus Cincinnati.   #32 DJ Chark gets Pittsburgh, #12 Robby Anderson gets Detroit, and #48 Marquise Brown gets Tennessee.  Joe has Big Ben who asked Mike Tomlin if he could skip practice all week after skipping practice last week and having his best outing of the season.  Big Ben and Joe, match made in heaven.  He should torch the Jags.  #12 CEH faces Vegas who held him to 9.5 points last time, his second lowest output of the season.  #17 Johnathan Taylor still has lot to prove after getting left in the dust for Hines last week.  He gets Green Bay’s run funnel defense.  #8 Calvin Ridley faces New Orleans, #13 Mike Evans gets Jalen Ramsey this week, and #24 JuJu is the 3rd best wide receiver on the team, but poses a favorable matchup.  Steelers D/ST can eat against Jake Luton.  Didn’t know whether to make a Futon joke or a nut on joke.  Hurts that his name is pronounced Lut-on instead of fu-ton.  So I guess the Steelers will nut on Futon?  Maybe it’s not there.  I’m open to suggestions.   Do a kicker bowl you cowards!

Division 3

Scotty (3-7) vs. Mike (6-4)

D3 is wide open, unless Mike slams the door shut here.  Scotty was my highest draft grade, he got the kiss of death.  Injuries have ravaged his team.  He has Carson Wentz against Cleveland (who has had crazy weather the past two home games), #11 James Conner who has had two sad weeks in a row with less than 6 points.  Some bright spots for Scotty has Chris Godwin who torched the Rams last year to the tune of 14 target, 12 receptions 172 yards and 2 touchdowns (memorably on my bench because I thought he was hurt).  #6 Tyler Lockett faces the Seahawks, the same Seahawks he destroyed a few weeks ago with 20 targets, 15 receptions, 200 yards and 3 touchdowns (50.5 fantasy points).  He also has #27 Cooper Kupp and #3 TJ Hockensen @ Carolina.  Mike who probably felt confident before reading this has #1 Fantasy Qb Kyler Murray who also went off a few weeks ago for 40.1 fantasy points including 360 yards passing, 3 touchdowns and rushing lines of 14-67-1.  Murray is the #1 Rb on the Cardinals.  No CMC, No David Johnson, but Mike has both of their backups in #15 Mike Davis versus Detroit’s 32nd ranked OPRK and Duke Johnson gets New England.  #25 AJ Brown has a rough matchup against Baltimore and #23 Justin Jefferson has a great looking matchup against Dallas.  Despite the discrepancy in record, this will be a battle.

Chase (4-6) vs. Tommy (5-5)

Neither team is out of the playoff hunt, nor out of contention for the division crown.  That could be a different story after this week.  Chase has #4 Qb Russell Wilson in a tasty shootout against Arizona slated for TNF.  Miles Sanders is back and gets Cleveland.  #1 Davante Adams has had a brilliant season so far.  He has a tough matchup against Indy, but he is matchup-proof.  Michael Thomas has a favorable matchup against Atlanta.  Will Jameis come in and lead the Saints to the promise land?  Can he at least get Michael Thomas going?  Tommy just went HAM last week.  This week Tom Brady gets Aaron Donald and the RAMS defense.  Tom Brady has stated he goes to bed at 8:30pm with his early to bed, early to rise mindset.  This kickoff will be 8:15pm Eastern time for Monday Night Football.  Rams will beat up sleepy Brady.  8. Kareem Hunt gets Philly, #14 D/Andre Swift gets Carolina’s 29th OPRK in a smash spot.  Adam Thielen should keep up his solid season against Dallas, and Tommy should get Zeke and Golladay back for reinforcements.  Chase won the first matchup 141.7 to 104.1.  Tommy has been gaining strength.  Does Chase climb even with Tommy at 5-6?  Or will Tommy drop Chase down to 4-7 and potentially out of the playoffs?
